About Us

Floreana celebrates the joy of handwritten correspondence while sharing a love for the Spanish language.

"A different language is a different vision of life." – Federico Fellini

Isla Floreana

Inspired by a small island in the Galápagos Archipelago called Isla Floreana. Floreana Island has been operating its own stampless postal system since 1793.

Sailors traversing the oceans came up with a clever system for getting letters to their loved ones. They constructed a wooden barrel on Floreana Island and left mail there in the hopes that sailors on passing ships would pick it up and deliver it.

To this day the postbox is still used, you can drop off your own postcard and a visiting tourist just might pick it up and hand deliver it.

That's what happened to us...
